General Questions

When are you open?

We’re open 7 days a week
09:00-19:00 Mon-Fri
10:00-18:00 Saturday and Sunday.

We are! We operate on weekend opening hours on weekends.

Mail in Repair Questions

Can I mail in any device for repair?

You can mail-in anything listed on our site. If you have any questions or your device is not listed please call and our technicians will assist you.

What should I include when I am shipping my device to you?

We only need your device, do not include accessories, the original packaging as this will only increase shipping cost. Any other information we need will be provided from the mail-in form.

Do I have to include my passcode with my phone?

It is recommended. We need the passcode in order to test your phone after the repair. If you do not wish to provide your passcode, certain phone functions won’t be tested such us camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and therefore can’t be verified by us to work.

Do you need my SIM card?

No, we do not need your SIM card but without it we cannot fully test your device.

GDPR and Data Handling

What is GDPR?

GDPR is a set of rules designed to give EU citizens more control over their personal data. It aims to simplify the regulatory environment for business so both citizens and businesses in the European Union can fully benefit from the digital economy.

How does Xpressfix comply to GDPR?

The easiest answer to that question is that we comply 100% with all GDPR regulations and handle your data with the utmost care.

What does this mean for me?

It means that your Data is safe with us, anything we take from you be it your Laptop Password or your Address is stored safely and securely and only for as long as is relevant to the job at hand. No surprise emails, no advertisement and no chance that it’ll go to anyone other than us.

Sales and Warranty Questions

What warranty does my Repair have?

All repairs and services from us come with a 180 day warranty.
The warranty covers attempted further repair and in the worst cases, escalation to 3rd level repair.

Our Repair Warranty does not cover physical damage or Liquid Damage that has been done to the device.

How do I know if my device is still under Warranty?

If it’s been less than 6 months and your device hasn’t suffered any liquid or physical damage, then your device is under warranty.

Do I need to have my receipt to avail of the Warranty?

Yes, without a receipt we cannot verify your repair or grant you a repair under warranty.

General Questions

What types of Smartphones do you repair?

We repair all smartphones available in the market including Apple, HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Blackberry, Nokia and Huawei smartphones.

I tried repairing my smartphone myself, can I still bring it in for repair or diagnostic?

Yes, no problem, please walk in to the store and bring your device, or mail it to us.

I have multiple issues with my smartphone, can I get a deal on multiple repairs?

Yes you can, give us a call and describe your problem and we will see what we could do for you.

Can I mail in any device for repair?

Liquid Damage Service

What should I do if my device falls in water or another liquid?

Do not turn on your device. It’s best if you bring it the next day or even the same day, as we will have a better chance of repairing it. Of course if you can’t make it to one of our locations, try to dry it out, then bring or mail your device to one of our locations. Don’t put it in a bag of rice, you’ll only ruin the rice.

My device was water damaged and now everything seems to work fine except for one function, do I still need the full water damage service?

The easiest answer to that question is to simply call us at one of our locations so our technicians can diagnose the problem.

How long do water damage repairs take to complete?

Water damage repairs generally take between 48 and 72 hours to complete depending on the level of damage. This estimate can vary, however, depending on the extent of the damage to the logic board and other components.

Glass & LCD Replacement Service

After dropping my phone it has become unresponsive to touch, does the glass repair fix this issue?

Yes, any non responsiveness your phone is suffering due to a drop will be corrected with the Glass & Digitizer repair, as the Digitizer that is being replaced is the part responsible for all touch functionality. How do I know if I need the LCD repair or not?

If the actual screen of the phone is bleeding, white, or has any dead pixels then you’re going to need to select the LCD & Glass option as the LCD has suffered irreversible damage. Still not sure? Send a picture of the current condition of the phone while it is powered on to support@xpressfix.ie and we will do our best to diagnose it.

The glass on my iPhone is completely shattered and is chipping off, is the glass replacement service all I need?

Yes, the glass replacement service will replace the entire glass face, so the extent of the damage to the previous glass does not matter.

Computer Repair General Questions

What types of Computers do you repair?

We repair all Computers available in the market including Apple, HP, Samsung, Dell, Lenovo and Asus.

I tried repairing my computer myself, can I still bring it in for repair or diagnostic?

Yes, no problem, please walk in to the store and bring your device, or mail it to us.

I have multiple issues with my computer, can I get a deal on multiple repairs?

Yes you can, give us a call and describe your problem and we will see what we could do for you.

My Email isn't syncing, can you fix it?

We can do a full diagnostic and resync outlook to your Email provider’s servers. Just drop it into us in Store!

Data Transfers and Backups

Can I have the data removed from an old device?

Yes, we can attempt to remove data from any old hard drives or computers you bring to us.

What should I include when having data transferred.

We only need your device, do not include accessories, the original packaging as this will only increase shipping cost. Any other information we need will be provided from the mail-in form.

Do I have to include my password for you to do a Data transfer?

It is recommended. We need the passcode in order to test your phone after the repair. If you do not wish to provide your passcode, certain phone functions won’t be tested such us camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and therefore can’t be verified by us to work.

Can I have my Hard Drive back after?

Yes, tell us if you want your Hard Drive back after a removal or replacement and we’ll be able to give you it back. Otherwise due to GDPR to protect your data we’ll have to destroy the hard drive.

Malware Removal and OS Reinstall Services

I think my computer has a virus, can you help me?

Yes, at Xpressfix we can remove viruses and set up security measures to prevent you getting them again, most of the time without having to wipe your machine.

My computer is on an old version of Windows, what can be done?

We can reinstall the newest version of Windows 10 and update your Office suite. This usually has the effect of speeding up your computer.

Will I lose my Data if I move to a newer version of Windows?

No, if you let us know that you need your data we will do everything in our power to keep it safe for you.

Laptop Sales and Warranty

What laptops do you sell?

We sell a variety of refurbished and new laptops, check our facebook or web store for more details.

I've had my computer repaired in store, what warranty does that repair have?

All our repairs come with a 180 day warranty.

Can I have my data transferred onto my new laptop?

You can! Purchasing a laptop from us comes with the option to get your data transferred across from your old machine to your new one.

Game Console General Questions

What types of game consoles do you repair?

We repair all game consoles on the market and even some vintage consoles.

I tried repairing my console myself, can I still bring it in for repair or diagnostic?

Yes, no problem, please walk in to the store and bring your console, or mail it to us.

Do you fix controllers?

We do, just bring it into us in store.

Playstation Questions

My Playstation won't turn on, can you fix it?

We can indeed, just bring it into us and we’ll get it fixed.

Do you need my PSN details?

Not unless you’re having issues with your PSN.

Do I need to give you a game to test the device?

No we do not need a game from you, we have our own tester games.

Xbox Questions

My Xbox won't recognize discs, can you fix this?

We can! Either lens or disc tray replacement. Not a problem at all for our technicians.

Can you fix the red ring of death?

In 99% of cases, we can fix a RRoD. Just come into us in store.

My Xbox won't update, can you fix this?

We can without a doubt, there’s no issue with us doing a reinstall and update.

Nintendo Questions

What Nintendo Products do you repair?

Everything from Gamecube to Gameboy Advanced, Wii to Switch. Just come into us in store.

Can you repair Nintendo Handheld screens?

Be it Nintendo DS, Wii U or Switch. We offer full screen and LCD repairs.

Do you do repairs on jailbroken Nintendo devices?

Unfortunately we do not offer repairs on jailbroken nintendo devices.
